A cozy apartment in a more than 100-year-old log house close to all city center services, yet in its own peace. The atmospheric Portsa district is quiet and distinctive, with cafes, grocery stores, and children's playgrounds nearby. The city's cultural offerings, the harbor, and the train station are within walking distance, and a bus from a nearby block takes you to Ruissalo or, in the other direction, to the Market Square. The apartment has three floors of equal size, with a bedroom, sauna, bathroom, toilet, and wardrobe in the basement. You enter the apartment from the middle floor, where there is a toilet and a well-equipped open kitchen. The top floor has a bedroom and a spacious wardrobe. The apartment is wonderfully bright: the ceiling height in the middle floor is over three meters, and the tall grid windows face the courtyard, sunlight shines through the upstairs skylight from morning to afternoon, and the three windows in the basement allow for staying without electric lighting. In front of the apartment is a terrace where you can enjoy your morning coffee sheltered by maple and lilacs. The kitchen has a functional wood stove, on which you can cook the best meals and also heat both the middle and upper floors. Additional warmth for wood heating comes from electric radiators, although they have only been needed during the harshest cold spells. There is electric floor heating in the basement. Electricity and heating have cost about 100€/month for a family with children. There is a double bed upstairs, sofa beds in the basement and middle floors. In addition to a dining table for six, the kitchen is equipped with dishes, pots, pans, coffee and water makers, a toaster, a microwave oven, a dishwasher, and a professional-grade induction stove and oven. In the tidy bathroom, you'll find a new washing machine, and the sauna heats up in half an hour to be ready for use. The rent also includes bed linen and towels.
