We have a small and affordable room available in the main house on a beautiful farm in Røyken. Here you can live rurally and peacefully, yet reach Oslo in under an hour. The house is shared with a small community of people interested in yoga, meditation, permaculture, organic farming, and a conscious and calm lifestyle. About the Room The room is about 6 sqm, with a sloping roof, and is located on the 2nd floor. It's suitable for someone who doesn't need much space. The room is furnished, but you are welcome to bring your own furniture if you wish. The kitchen and bathroom are shared with the other residents. The room is available from December 1st or by agreement. Rent is 4,500 NOK per month, plus service charges. In addition, there is a fixed monthly fee for electricity (850 NOK) and water/sewerage (350 NOK), totaling 1,200 NOK/month. The amount is the same all year round, so winter's higher electricity expenses are offset by lower costs in the summer. Rental agreements, deposit, and rent payments are securely managed via Qasa. I also have a similar room available now, and a larger room about 14 sqm for 6,000 NOK per month. Both have their own ads on Qasa and FINN. Location It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the bus stop at old Røyken. It's about 30 minutes to walk or 10–15 minutes to bike to Røyken station. The train from there takes 40–45 minutes into Oslo. About the Living Environment This is a quiet and stable living environment, with room for both community and privacy. People here appreciate nature, tranquility, simplicity, and respect for each other. Course Weekends and Retreats Some weekends a year, up to around 12, and additionally one or two retreats, quiet courses are held in the living rooms of the main house. This is done with respect for the fact that the house is also a home for those who live here. There's no expectation for you to participate, but for those who wish, there are great opportunities: You can join the morning practice on course weekends. You can participate in courses and education at a discounted price. You can help with cooking for the courses and get a reduction in rent for the months you contribute. All of this is entirely voluntary and agreed upon in advance. The room is suitable for someone who enjoys a calm environment and appreciates that there is occasionally a bit more life in the house on certain weekends.
