Ramstorp, Nossebro Come and build a sustainable farm with us! Here, we will live with as little impact on the environment and climate as possible. The hope is to become as self-sufficient as possible in terms of food and energy. Today, the farm has two residential houses, but only one is currently habitable. We plan to renovate the abandoned house next to it and also build two small cottages so more people can join us on the farm to help with chores. The house available for rent today is about 70 sqm. On the ground floor, there are 2 rooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom. Upstairs, there are an additional 2-3 rooms. Two are small and can be combined into a larger room. The house is older but functional. Currently, heating is done with wood and electric elements, but we will also install an air-source heat pump downstairs to reduce the electricity cost for those who do not always wish to burn wood. Cold rent: 8100 SEK Additional requirement: help on the farm: 3h/week (1h/day, 3 days a week) Expect another 5000 SEK/month for electric heating (annually). If you choose to burn wood for heating, you should manage the heating for 2500 SEK/month. In that case, only household electricity is extra. Water, sewage (for greywater), and garbage collection are included. If you want land for your own animals or cultivation, that can be discussed. Otherwise, all land will be used for the farm's cultivation and animal husbandry, most of which will be used as grazing fields. As you understand, this rental is unlike any other; we require not just rent, but also help on the farm, 3h per week/adult. The assistance we need includes the care of sheep/cows, setting up new grazing enclosures, and bringing water to them if it's not already available. The animals are priority number one, but help with other farm chores such as gardening or scything for winter feed may also be needed. So, all adults on the farm need to be ready to commit 1h/day, 3 days a week. During tasks like scything, more time might be required, but you'll have more free time another time. You will largely be able to decide when you have the opportunity to allocate this working time, so it fits with your job and other scheduled activities. To protect the environment, our farm will be run organically as much as possible. That is, no spraying or artificial fertilizers on the land. For the same reason, we opted out of traditional WC where drinking water is used and polluted. Instead, there is a compost toilet. If you prefer to install a separating toilet, freeze toilet, or another solution that does not pollute water, that is fine.
