The village of Vainikkala is best known for its busy railway station, but traffic has been halted for over two years due to the situation in Russia. Unfortunately, the end of traffic also took away the restaurant and shop from the village, so a car is necessary. A bus to Lappeenranta runs a few times a day, but commuting, for example to work or school, is challenging. There are several parking spaces in the company's area and they are free of charge.
