Vollen is traditionally known for shipbuilding, fruit growing, and horticulture. Today it is a gem with an environmental street and a few minutes' walk to several of the fjord's finest beaches and marina. There is good bus connection to Asker center, Sandvika and Oslo. The express boat (commuter boat) from Vollen to Aker Brygge takes about 35 minutes. So it is easy to live here and work in Oslo.
